**** fight broke out

I had a 20gal tank prims go hay wire on me a couple of days ago so I moved my orange flash pair from it into my heavily planted 65gal tank. it was only in there for no more then 5 mins and it dawned on me that my cockato pair was in the tank as well. So before I could even grap the net I seen this=

I like lost it trying to get them apart. just for the records the cockato is now the **** of the tank

Just remember that your A. cacatuoides "Double Red" and A. cacatuoides "Orange/flash" are color strains of the same species. They will breed together & produce non-pure color strains. As long as you can tell the difference in the females, it is OK. You can separate the color strains at a later time.

Yea I got the female out of the 20gal and put her into another 10gal as not to get her mixed up withthe full red female. I couldn't beleave how hard it was to get them apart. It was like ppulling teeth. I got them apart and before I could get the flash from the tank they we're jaw locked again.
There was no one hurt. I looked really close at the jaws of both of them and the side. I mean I was shocked at the power of those little guys. I thought I had a 10pd. large mouth bass onthe line. The way they we're locked and twisting and turning. Like a crockadails' death roll.
