Female?

Hey guys,

Picked up a pair of Apistos a couple days ago and was wondering if you could help me identify if my "female" apisto is actually a female.

The curse of domestic color strains: females can show male colors. My guess is that it probably is a female A. cacatuoides. It shows no dark pattern in the caudal fin typically seen on males. Since I have now idea how large or how old the fish is, it is also possible that it is a young male just beginning to develop mature features.
