Feeding Ram Fry

Easy question I am sure...for ya'll. I was just wondering if brand new free swimming ram fry will have big enough mouths to eat BBS or do they need something different? Thanks in Advance, looking forward to Replies.

Hi Travis,
Start out with microworms and have lots of live plants in their tank. When they first start free swimming they'll munch on tiny unseen things and the worms. After say 3-5 days, try the live bbs. Feed a combination of both until you see all of them have pink tummies from the bbs. Then stop the microworms.

Hi Travis congates I totally agree with cathy rams are defanatly not big enough to eat BBS at first as most books and articles say.

I have experienced that some A.agassizi and A. sp. "steelblue" fry cannot eat bbs in first 2-3 days of their free swimming. Microworms is essential as is live plants and decaying leaf matter or other organic surfaces which holds lots of small critters. I do like Cathy and feed both bbs and microworms twice (or 3 times if its a holiday) a day to all my fry.
