Eggs Scattered Outside Cave

I couldn't find anything online that would explain this behavior, so I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar.

Apistogramma Cacatuoides has laid eggs two days ago in a cave, but she seems to be taking the eggs out of the cave now and scattering them outside the cave entrance.

Any idea what would drive this odd behavior?

I've seen this a couple of times when the eggs are infertile and for some reason the female doesn't eat them. I've seen them be totally ignored as they turn to fungus. I've only seen this a couple of times out of hundreds of spawns. I don't believe I've ever seen it repeated.

That makes sense.

I'll have a look at them again tonight, but it seems she just doesn't want anything to do with them anymore.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
