Do A. Cacatuoides like being by themselves?

I got one small A. Cacatuoide for my 7 gallon bow front tank. There are some artifical plants and and 3 caves. The fish seems happy in the tank by herself.

Should I leave her there alone of should I had some tankmates? I was going to put my 2 Platties from my big tank but now I'm going to leave them there.

I don't think the issue so much is will the single cacatuoides be Ok in the tank by herself. I think it is more an issue of whether she will out-and-about at all. Probably, but there are things that will help that. A few dither fish should make her feel more comfortable in her surroundings. Tetras, etc. usually helps to promote a sence of safety in cichlids, because they are always swimming around. The cichlid thinks that, if there was danger, they wouldn't be. + it gives them something to chase if they feel fiesty.
If she is Ok in there alone, then great, but if she is hiding alot, you may want to try some tetras.

Thanks for the info Neil.

She usually comes out when I'm at the tank. She will come right up to the front and just check me out but otherwise I think she is hiding most of the time. I think I will add a few dither fish like neon Tetra or something similar so she feels safe. Plus it will give the tank a little more activity.
