After the ID issue with my A.cactoides, I now have another problem. Recently my A.cacatoides female went real yellow and now has disappeared.
Its been 2 days since her disappearance into the large cave network I have in my one piece of mopani wood. I have not seen her at any of the feeding times and beginning to get a little worried that she might have died inside the caves.
The only positive thing I have to indicate some activity is that my Kuhli Loaches seem to have been "evicted" from that piece of Mopani wood altogther and avoid any of the caves in it. I hold hope that she is inside with eggs/fry and have yet to make an appearance.
With my lifting up the wood to see, would I disturb the eggs/fry?
Do the females disappear for long extended periods of time when rearing the eggs and first stages fry?
