Crossing A. Mendezi

It is known from Romer's Atlas that
A. Mendezi, depending on its caudal fin pattern, has
several forms which also reflect the origin ...

And as far as I know, despite the different caudal fin patterns,
the fish belong to the same species - A. Mendezi, and hence
they could pair up rather naturally and spawn.

However, i have tried a couple of times but still could not
get a cross between the following two types of Mendezi. So, i would like
to know if there are any experiences to share on this crossing.
Thanks much.
