CPO with Apistos?

So I plan on starting back up in the hobby when I go to college this fall. I was thinking of doing a 20 gallon with dwarf Mexican crays and a fish I could potentially breed. I was thinking of apisto borelii being that fish but I’m worried that if the apistos spawn they will become aggressive towards the cpos and kill them. Is this a valid concern?

There is also a concern that the crayfish will stress the Apistos out being at least partially nocturnal and Apistos diurnal. Also, they will compete for caves eventually.

If you want to breed the apistos best only combine them with some dithers like pencilfish and no bottomdwellers.

Ok, I was planning on having hiding places all over the tank so I didn't think cave competition would be a problem. I didn't think of cpos being a problem, I always heard they were fish safe, are they not?

I have seen crayfish snatching sleeping fish, so... no. An Apisto female may be small enough for a CPO to overwhelm at night.

Ok. I didn't think the cpo would be able to since they would probably be smaller than the apistos. Thanks :)
