Catching apisto aggie fry

Hey everyone,

I've got a 55 with two pair of rams & some ottos. One pair of rams had a spawn free swimming 2 weeks ago; the others have a batch that have just hatched.

I cleared out a bunch of aggies to make up this ram paradise. The problem is that I've got at least two aggie fry I missed that are making for a little nature show in the tank, picking off ram fry. They (or at least the biggest one?) got about half of the first spawn.

Catching them with a net is out of the question - the tank is pretty well planted. I've only seen them three times, and only today saw that there was more than one. (Besides, I couldn't find them even when I took all the plants out before... )

Are there any tricks to baiting some kind of trap to catch them? Thanks.

I've used the 'bottle trap' effectivly.
Take a 24oz water/soda bottle. Take the top off.
Cut the top 1/3rd of the bottle off with a sharp razor
or box cutter. Turn it upside down and insert into the
2/3rd portion of the bottle. Add some blackworms in
it, and place it on it's side in the tank. Fish swim in,
can't seem to find their way out. You may end up
catching other fish too. Try placing it where the aggie
fry like to feed / hang out.

I've had the same problem before. I just tried to spot where they like to hide and sat the net there, came back an hour later and there they were, hiding in the net. Luck maybe, but it still worked!
