can someone help me ID my apisto

I had bought this apisto at my Local fish store but first off the woman didn't speak clear English nor did the fish have any sort of ID around it. Hope its a clear enough picture that I attatched

I don't think its a apisto possibly Pelvicachromis pulcher

Yes, it's a male Pelvicachromis pulcher from West Africa (Nigeria).

Very prolific spawner if I recall. Think I had a pair that I forgot about in a 10 gallon that I barely changed the water on and they where still spawning. Maybe it had something to do with my water coming out of my tap at about 8ph, kh/gh not measurable with a liquid test... Now it dosnt help me with wanting to keep soft water species
