Maybe to young to tell if they are piaroa (sp. Breitbenden) or megaptera yet but I'll take any insight I can get.

The largest male is about 2 1/2" long. I'll work on better pictures when I get back from the GCCA Cichlid Classic.

I can't say for sure. The fish in the back in photo 2 and photo 15 appear to be A. piaroa. The fish in photo 3 appears to be A. megaptera. I hate to say it, but you might have a mixed lot of Breitbinden forms. Separating the females might be a real bear! Hopefully, they're all just young A. piaroa in which the males haven't developed the highly serrated dorsal spines.

A 164: A. piaroa
A 165: A. cf. piaroa (Rio Negro)/A. sp. Windisch/A. sp. São Gabriel/A. sp. Schwanzfleck/Tail-spot
A 166: A. megaptera
A 167: A. cf. piaroa (I think it's probably a slender form of A. piaroa that Staeck introduced as A. sp. Caño Morrocoy, but not positive.)
