Bullheaded Barlowi's

I've been told that Barlowi's are kinda bullheaded! My male is never nice to the female though she tries her darnedest. She will take a submissive posture in front of him and all he does is chase her.

Is this just the nature of a Barlowi or is the pair not compatible to each other?

They're housed in a 15g planted tank with 6 CPD's occupying the mid/upper level. I've had to remove all bottom dwelling fish since they were limited to hiding from the Barlowi and I never saw them.

Anyone out there with any past experience/advice, appreciated.

A. barlowi are like species of the atahualpa-group, rather aggressive for apistos. I think that a 15 (or 20H) is usually a bit small for such species. It might work if the tank is really choked with plants/wood.
