Can you keep these in small groups of 4-6 individuals

how big is your tank? after awhile as they mature the males will fight between them self and the smaller one will pay the price, if you have a bigger aquarium with lots of hiding places it will help

I was thinking on putting them in a 3ft tank with young discus

just make sure your discus are (young) i also added 3 months old rams with fully grown discus (5 to 6 inches) . the discus were always running after them nipping at them, until i had to take out the rams. but if your discus are small they will get use to the rams and i think will leave them alone.
