really thrive or survive? Currently I have a "bachelor/bachelorette" tank with a male Trifasciata and a female krib. They live together, but the Trifasciata is constantly watching for and moving out of the way of the krib. Not really ideal. Can I really expect them to coexist peacefully or just survive by hiding from the dominant one?
Thrive/survive is subjective. I used to have a 4', 30 gallon community with scarlet badis, several gouramies and barbs. The badis rarely wandered far from cover and some of the larger fish in there probably would've considered them a snack. I found more than a few badis fry in there, so they felt reasonably secure enough to breed.
Fish don't mind being chased around a bit, provided they have the option of getting away.
