Besides live or frozen foods are there any pellet type of foods that apistos tend to prefer? Is there anything from Dainichie or NLS lines that's better than average flake food?

I believe mine are .5mm. The breeder I got my fish from used them so I thought I'd give em a try. I did notice once the fry started taking them that they grew rather quickly. I like the product but like I said it may take some time for the fish to take the pellets.

I like the NLS fresh h2o flakes. All my fish seem to be doing better on them switching from tetramin... Didn't make much sense to me, tetramin has potato and wheat or something in it, where are fish gonna find those in the wild?? NLS has a new loyal customer till something better comes out.

I will have to try the .5 pellets also, thanks for the advice on them.

Does anyone know anything or have any exp with the NLS grow pellets they they produce??

I just bought NLS THERA + A we will see how it goes. I'm suspecting I have some kind of parasites so hopefully this food will help me get rid of it.

I've discovered that my apistos are very finiky and won't eat them straight out of the water. After a bit, they will sift fine grained pellets and flakes from the substrate. I guess they're like people: some like their cold breakfast cereal crispy, but other prefer it soggy!
