Apistogramma pairs

Hi
I got 2 female apistogramma cockatoo and 1 male. One of the females died. Is it necessary to get another female?

No, not necessary. I have 3 pairs living in 3 separate tanks now.

It is not neccessary, but watch for some agression and chasing. If this occurs get another female...cheers jk

Well they have been in a 10 gallon for a while and are doing okay. Plan is to move them into 29 gallon community tank. Got problems with the filter now so that will have to wait. Now I won't worry. He is a bit timid. The female is the mean one. Thanks for the info.
