Apistogramma Macmasteri Breeding Behavior?

So I have a tank for a pair of Macmasteri "Super reds" and it appears like they are starting to mate/court one another. The female has turned into a yellowish/amber color, and occasionally turns into a bright lemony color when in presence of the male. Usually the female will tail slap the male, but it seems like the male is not interested and does nothing. Literally a few minutes later the male tail slaps the female but then now the female is uninterested. This has been going for maybe almost a week now and still no success. But today I noticed that the female is really agressive towards the male everytime she tries to "court" him. It starts the same with the tail slaps, but if the male does not respond she would nip the male agressively, but the male doesn't do anything (not sure if it hurts or not since the male is double the size of the female). Now I'm not sure if they are compatible or not. Mostly the aggression is from the female to the male, but sometimes the male would chase after the female and send them crashing into walls and other objects. The female does not appear to have eggs because she is not guarding any caves. Also when she tries to court the male and enters a cave, the male never follows. Any ideas what the problem is? Or should I just keep waiting to see what happens. I have never bred apistos successfully before so I do not know how long it would usually take for them to lay eggs after courting.

She's yellow, meaning she's ready.

Any ideas what the problem is? Or should I just keep waiting to see what happens
1. Yes, wait it out.
2. Without more information nobody can tell. So please:
- post a picture of the whole tank
- What do you feed? How much?
- Are there tankmates? What and how many?
- What's the temperature?
- What do you do maintenance-wise and what's your schedule?
