Apistogramma maciliensis

Hi ,

i have at least one pair of A. maciliensis on a 20g
the 2 other tank mate is 2 A. maciliensis (probably a pair , but not sure yet).

wall 2 weeks ago the fisrt pair laied eggs but the got eaten ..... probably.

the think is this tank was not made for breeding and have a PH: 6.9
Kh=2 GH=5/6

i think the water is a bit hard but realy dont know.

anybody have any kind of experience with this neat fish ?

Zapisto,
Yes, I have had and bred this fish several times. Unfortunately, I have usually used softer water than you (but not by much). I am pretty sure that this particular fish should do fine in your water. Give it one more chance because many pairs take more than one try to get it right. If you still are unsuccessful, you only need to "cut" your water slightly with RO to do the trick IMO.
