Apistogramma jurupari

Has anyone heard of this species?

It's been on a list neither of us had ever heard of it and my thoughts were maybe it was a really badly ID'd Satanoperca jurupari, or it's some unidentified Apistogramma species.

Anyone know anything about it? Seen it offered?

Not a scientific name; it could be anything. I wouldn't be surprised if it is A. sp. Schwarzkinn/Black-chin (often erroneously sold as A. juruensis).

I couldn't find anything anywhere, but that's a good call. Might be worth pursuing then!

From looking at the ID problems though, they could be anything really I suppose?

Mike (Stoker) saw them and e-mailed me asking if I'd heard of them. I'm just e-mailing him again and will ask him if he'll post some more details here.

For what it's worth I have seen small Geophagus/Satanoperca come in labeled as an Apisto. Even more often I've gotten Apistos mixed in (50/50) with Geophagus/Satanoperca and all labeled as the Geophagus/Satanoperca.

I will be interesting to see what these fish really are!
