Apistogramma Elizabethae - Locale id?

Hi Everyone,

I have a pair of a. Elizabethae (95% sure at least). that do seem to have some slightly abberant coloration compared to other examples that I see of this species.

Mostly in a more distinct orange/red on the tips of the dorsal fin, and also the tips of the pelvic fins.

The specimen is still young, as he was not sex-able just a few months ago when I got him (Thank the stars I lucked out and got a pair as it was guesswork). The pair is currently raising fry and are generally at peak "breeding colors" from my observations as well.

Any thoughts on the coloration? Is it a known locale specific thing, or possibly just minor genetic differences?

Location
Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.
It (or its ancestors) originated in the lower Rio Uaupes drainage, like most (if not all) commercially available specimens. The Rio Icana population shows a blue/red/blue series of horizontal stripes below the eye, between the snout and cheek stripe. In Uaupes populations this part of the face shows only minor color differences, sometimes a blue streak.

Thank you for the insight!

For all the examples I can find online (which aren't a ton for this species). I dont see any that have such distinct orange markings on the pelvic fins. Any thoughts on that variation?

Another photo of the male, and of the female here as well
