Apistogramma cacatuoides questions

Hey guys i recently got a Apistogramma cacatuoides and im fairly new to apistos in general so i was just wondering would it like a coconut cave because i was thinking of making one and would they need a cave? Also what is there general diet i usally feed my fish a diet of tubifex worms algae wafers shrimp pellets bloodworms and flakes would this be a good diet?

It depends on how many you're got in the tank and the size of tank. Cave is used for breeding and hiding from aggression.

As for diet, I suggest avoid tubiflex and algae wafers and stick with frozen bloodworm (small quantity) and dry pellet/flake (whatever they like). In general worm can be difficult to digest and causes problem. They would love live food (daphnia, brine shrimp, mozzie larvae, etc), but only feed when you can be certain there's no contamination in the live food (to avoid infection).

Thanks for the informative response the algae wafers are usally for the plecs and th tubifex for kuhlis but yeah im trying to feed bloodworms and shrimp pellets to her side(theres only one at the moment i plan to get a male soon) thanks for your help about the caves and food cheers.
