Apistogramma Cacatuoides Male to small?

Hi everyone,

i am not sure if my Cacatuoides Male is normal in size. He swims in a 190 liter Tank with two Females, 8 Knodus Borki, 2 Hypancistrus Sp. Gurupa and around 16 Amano Shrimps.
He tries to impress the Ladys and they change colors to yellow (but not as bright as they should) but it just doesn't work.
I bought the Male in May and he is still only 4cm in size..(the first one i had was way bigger with this age and he had always fry with his Lady). Is this possible or am i just imagening things? (sorry for my strange english).

Guess i will see if he is going to grow some more or not.

Feed him up on lots of live food and perform more PWC. I find this helps them grow pretty big pretty quick.

Cacs, Borelli, and agzs are the most common apistos in the lfs and sadly this is leading to really poor genetics. Deformed mouths, dwarf dwarfs, ill shaped bodies and very unimpressive finnage are becoming common place especially in these species. Or at least that's what I've seeing in the lfs' and hearing from the community at large.

Hey all,

so unfortunatly my male died a few weeks ago i was really considering of giving the female away and don't get any dwarf cichlids anymore....but then last saturday i stumbled over a male i just couldn't ressist...so i have a new male and he is allready 5 to 6cm and big and my female seems happy since she turned a shade of yellow as soon as she spottet him so lets see what the future brings
