Apistogramma cacatuoides facial growth

Any idea what I’m fighting here on my apistogramma cacatuoides. Started as a small white spot and has progressed to this over a month. I have tried Maracyn I & II, Kanaplex, and API General Cure with no visible success. I’ll attach the latest photo and some prior ones.

I originally thought it was bacterial or fungal, then maybe it was Hole in the Head. Now I think it could be Lymphocytes which I don’t think is treatable?

Appreciate any advice.

Spot on and considering the placement I would put the fish out of its misery. It is contagious and untreatable.

That's the google AI-answer, isn't it? The Lymphocytes-thing makesnit obvious.
Lymphocystis, though, although it can improve, has a risk. These growths fall of at some point and take a lot of surrounding tissue with them, and then they regrow. So certain areas can be problematic, like the head and or the abdomen.

Lymphocystis is generally considered incurable. However, it is possible to promote self-healing in fish by increasing the temperature and treating them with Cyprinopur from Sera. Affected fish are treated with Cyprinopur for five days and then again for five days after a week's break. The active ingredients in Cyprinopur are 1.88 g phenol and 4.4 g resorcinol in 100 ml.
As a rule, external growths then regress on their own. However, we are talking about a disease caused by viruses here. Once they have survived lymphocystis, the fish are considered carriers for life.
