Apistogramma cacatuoides can't move fin

All was well with my pair of Apistogramma cactuoides (orange flash), and the male was the most active fish in my tank. However, now the male hides in caves and sits on the substrate, unable to move one of his pectoral fins He just sits there, flared up with dark coloring. Is this a sign of illness, or an injury from being so active in my tank?

Please help!

Sorry to hear about your loss. This kind of thing happens to all of us at one time or another. Fish hide health problems, often until it is past curing. I'm sure you will be more successful the next time you try this fish.

are all the other fish ok? nothing can bring him back there theres hell of alot that can take the rest away.

He was about 2 and 1/2 months old.

I'm left with a lone female now. Don't really know what my next move is yet.
