Apistogramma borelli

Hey guys just found out about this site. Hello to all. I am new to apistos and I'm currently keeping 6 wildcaught borelli. I have them in a 29gallon with some matie corys. They are young group. Not sure of ratio. My ? can I add more borelli to the tank or are they just gonna murder each other off till i end up with a pair? :frown: It seems like everyone does trios or pairs. Again i state that i am a rookie.lol...... I keep tangs and malawi but apistos were to damn tempting!!!LOL....

you will probely have more than 1 male in there make sure you have a big aquarium with many hiding places (maby oak leaves caves branches, plants) ps i have many apistogramma cacatuoides (about 45 adults males and females they are in a 40 gallon tank and everthing is fine)

It really depends on how the aquarium is laid out. These fish are cichlids and territorial. Unless each fish can find a territory of its own, there will be losses.

Thanks for the information. I do plan on moveing them to a 55gallon and giveing them a good amount of territory and some cichlid caves for cover and plants and drifwood. I really like them. My only male coloring up at one inch. def can't wait to grow them out. Its been two weeks so far ok.
