Apistogramma atahualpa

I got a few of these on an import made by a frind of mine from Peru... they all came with lot's of anchor worms and made me spend a little fortune in medicines to remove them (I find that han removing them usually hurts the fish).

The downside is that the medicines hardend the water and, when I went in a week vaction to the south, I foun upon my return I had lost about 50% of them.

Made several water changes with 100% RO water and put them in a 100x40 cm tank with lots of coco fiber, oak leaves a oak wood.

Now I rarely see them as they are allways hidding out... here are a few photos I managed to take of them:

... I'm fiding this species particulary agressive and very, very sensitive.

Hello.
I can only say that it is the same her at my place.
The male is very agressiv, and i have lost 1 male and 2 females out of 3,
so now i have only 1 male and 1 female left.
But i will not give up.
The female is very beautiful with spann, and is one of my favorites, of all
apisto females

This species seems to be a real chalenge... I made some mistakes judging the species from my Apisto experience.
