Apistogramma allpahuayo

So, I decided to skip the sub-tropical tank idea because I found a fish store which sells A. allpahuayo. Another reason is the lack of suitable Apistogramma species for the sub-tropical temperatures.
Nice opportunity because they're quite rare in Holland and the price is very attractive too.

I only have 1 question; what's the ideal temperature for this species? According to this site:
http://apisto.sites.no/fish.aspx?fishIndexID=2403&gruppeID=1
It's probably somewhere between 26 - 30 °C?

There is no "ideal temperature", only a range. Tom collected in the dry season, when water temperatures are a bit warmer (but not much warmer) than during the wet season. I think they should be fine between 24-30°C/75-86°F, but they will live longer at the lower end of the range.

Just released them in the tank. 3 Small females, and a beautiful large male.

Currently, the only other fish are 8 Otocinclus sp.
If I can catch them, I'll be placing my 14 Nannostomus eques also in this tank.

They don't feel that well yet, hopefully that'll change within a few days.

They are doing great. One of the females has already spawned a couple of days ago.
Unfortunately, I can't see anything but she's still protecting something.

I think she has larvae now :)
She isn't guarding the pipe anymore, but instead she's keeps disappearing underneath a piece of wood. She's also still very territorial against the other females.

The eggs/fry are gone, but she's already very interested in the male again. I made some photos yesterday:

(the big male with probably **another male next to it......)

I love their black chin:

**Unfortunately, one of the females appears to be a male. (s)he acts the same way towards the females as the big male does. The big male also keeps chasing 'it' away.
