Apisto ID please

Bought at auction under the very odd name of Apisto species "Makurde".

I appreciate they're not the finest pictures but I think they're as good as I can manage with my little camera.

I cannot say for certain. The photos do not show enough detail. My guess right now is a cruzi-complex species, possibly A. sp. Putumayo???

It's astonishing just how much they can change in a few days. This is the smaller of the two.

The yellow cast, especially in the top picture, is not so pronounced in real life. The bottom picture is about spot on. The orange pelvic fins are very noticeable.

I still can't say for certain, but probably a cruzi-complex species. My guess is it's either A. sp. Putumay or A. sp. Nanay (= A. sp. Melgar, not A. sp. Papagei). A. sp. Nanay typically has a red ring around the entire eye. Hope this helps.

I think this is about as good as I can get. Again, a little bit more yellow than in real life.

Hello there I have a pair of fish that look similar to yours. I can't for sure say what they are but that looks like a femlae from the reticulosa family like mine. Does your males have yellow cheeks? My males is about 2 inches and has alot of yellow on the side of his cheeks, and his dorsal fin is pretty high like a borelli. I will try to take some pics and post maybe we have the same fish..

I'm fairly sure that this is A. sp. Nanay/Melgar. The dark markings at least are the same.
