Hi all -

New member here - thanks for the great site. I'm a new world cichlid nut. I had a chance to meet and hear Mike Wise speak at the local cichlid association meeting last fall. Great presentation - too bad the projector blew up!

A few months ago I bought a pair of apistos from a local importer and friend. I recently lost the female. They were imported and sold as A. agasizzi but I believe that to be incorrect. Can anyone help with ID the correct species?

Thanks in advance -

Jeff

Thanks guys. I have to admit I've never seen a cauc. in their wild coloration, only the reds and oranges you see most often in the hobby. After looking at some other photos, I see that you are absolutely right.

He's a gorgeous fish, one of my favorites, and I'm happy to know his true species. Thanks for the help!
