hi i have a male and female apisto agassizii in a 20 gallon tank with 6 neons and 2 otos, i was wondering how i could stimulate my pair to breed, the female has laid several batches of eggs that where not fertilized and proceeded to eat them, the pH is about 7, KH is about 4.2

here is a picture of my male, i thought i should see if he actually is an apistogramma agassizii, and see if he's any special variety:

Hi Mori,
nice agazizzi. Domestic form, very nice one. Feed live food like baby brine shrimp.

Wait, wait and wait, (for as much as a month) then do a massive 50% water change.
Seems to work.

Good luck.

monroe, or
Soften the water more, which will also bring down the Ph. Do you have a source of RO water? I like to stimulate my fish with lots of water changes and softening the water. Change the water as much as 25% every other day with RO, maybe 10% tap.
