Hello group it’s been a while been going through very difficult times and Thanks to Josh for reaching out. I have a well established heavily planted 75g with lots of driftwood and caves and hiding spots, line of sight has been pretty much removed and I was wondering if cherry barbs would work out with my Apisto’s. I had cherry barbs years ago and they stayed at the lower part of the tank so that’s my concern also what about Cory’s l get mixed opinions on them. I only have male Apisto’s
Thanks its good to be back

My cherry barbs hang very low - with only male apisto - if they develop a territory they might snap at the barbs (I have one male agassizii in my 180 (72inchx30inch) and he definitely has a well defined territory - sure he snaps at the barbs and the cory and the keyholes but it is only when they pass through his rather small territory - he doesnt chase them and it is mostly no big deal. To be honest some of the cory are nearly his size and they just ignore him.

Anyway non of the 20 barbs i have have died in the past 13 months and the agassizii is a bit over 3 years old so he hasn't died yet - is it the perfect setup naw but hey no community tank is any-where close to being perfect.

Of course if you know ahead of time before you obtain the fish there will be a conflict you can avoid it by skipping the combination ;)

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
