No doubt you are referring to the list of Apisto's Bayfish is calling for pre-orders

I'm interested in A. sp parrot and the A. algodon II

My understanding is parrot=papagei=algodon I=very colourful form
algodon II is similar but less colourful

These fish are coming from Asia....where naming is often ???

I would like the species that look like these.....

but my I think I will need an each way bet...see what I get???

What can I say? Yes, there is an A. sp. Papagei. The fish linked in Rod's post are good representatives of the species. It occurs in the Río Ampiyacu in northern Peru. Sadly, it rarely finds its way into the commercial trade anymore. Instead, we get A. sp. Roca Eterna, a 'chunkier', less colorful species. Why? Because it is found in a river closer to Iquitos, so it is cheaper to collect and send to the exporters. As for A. sp. Algodon (either I or II), it has turned into a catch-all name for several closely related species of the cruzi/Pebas-subcomplex from northern Peru. Many Algodon now found in the hobby are actually crosses, produced from these mixed shipments.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
