This is a wild fish and not an aquarium strain. A. paucisquamis is a highly variable fish and, as seen here, some of them are stunning. Unfortunately it is a hard fish to maintain and there are very few hobby bred fish offered in the US.
I was searching paucisquamis on the forum and this came up. it looks very similar to the one i collected in tiririca, at the beginning of the anivilhas.
What gets me is that this is the only male that has red edges on it caudal, It is my favorite Apisto out of my entire collection, if only i had good enough pictures too show its true beauty!
