Unknown A. Agassizii?

Hi guys,

This is my first post and I’m very excited to share my love & stories of Apistos here!

So I need help of identifying these A. Agassizi. I bought them as Agassizi double red few days ago and soon realized they look little different than my double red before. They both have blue bodies but with yellow fins.

Male #1 is about mature size and #2 is slightly smaller. Male #2 has lightly more orange/red than #1.

Can these be hybrids? Or are they wild type? What would happen if I pair them with my true double red? Any helps are appreciated!

I see no obvious signs for them being hybrids and I'm not able to tell whether they are wild form(s) or belong to one or different domestic strains. I personally would not breed with a male and a female if I wasn't sure that they are the same species, which in case of wild forms usually means that they belong to the very same population. On the other hand, your "true double red" are likely hybrids of several different species - all subsumed under the name "A. agassizii" - anyway.
