I have been looking around for this species for a while. I had the luck to buy a couple of Ap. Linkei some years ago, but all of them were in bad shape. It looked like they were suffering from inbreed or something.
I discovered that all the fishes had their bodies bent. I am quite sure that they were Linkei´s, but they didn´t show any of the nice colorations seen in the books.
I read in the Cichlid atlas by Romer, that the Ap. Linkei was imported to Germany in great numbers in the middle of the eighties. But today the species is suffering from inbreed and it is difficult to find nice speciments.
Does anyone have any information about this subject? Have it been any new imports to Europe or US of these fishes in recent years?
