Any LFS that sell apistos around DC?

im thinking of starting an apisto tank because i have to bring the tank to college so i dont want anything too big in my dorm.

Aquarium Center sells them its in Randallstown MD.

The best place to buy fish everrr. Its the only place I go for fish. Huge selection of all different fish. Over 700 aquariums worth. Right now all cichlids are 20% off. Sale ends this Saturday including Sat.

Good luck with your tank at school. Keep in mind that you may not have alot of resources and time, so you will want to choose a species that will be easiest for you to deal with. A species that has requirements similar to the type of tap water you have at school would be my pick. Have fun.

which dwarf cichlids are the most sturdiest? ive been reading that cacs are good for beginners. what else?

A.cacatuoides, A.Borellii, and A.agassizii are all pretty easy to keep. But I think the tap water in DC area will be problematic. I've been staying in DC for conference. The tap water from the faucet is very hard. All apistos need very soft water. You probably need to make sure you can get good quality water before you get the fishes.
