Amazon River Disaster & Global Warming Facts

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you all know about my most recent report and some global warming facts, in which some of you may have interest in reading it - what is happening to our freshwater world, which I think is of concern to all, not only of the aquarists and/or dwarf cichlid lovers. While I think this is sad for the hobby and the flora/fauna in the region, it's even more devastating for the people. Hopefully things will improve there. Thanks for sharing the info!

This is very sad indeed. I don’t quite understand how he can claim a 10 fold increase in global warming? That seems awfully high but I am not there and the pictures do seem to verify his facts. I was always taught that an increase in temperatures causes more evaporation from the oceans and, therefore, more rain. I suppose I had better relook at what I was taught.

IMO this probably has as much to do with mans need to distroy and cut down so much of the most incredible rain forests in the world and place hydro dams across the most amazing river systems in the world as it has to do with warming. At the least it is a nasty combination of two evils.
