All males...

I believe I have all male Apistogramma Trifasciatas. Except the two younger ones have been showing a bit of a light yellow. I've seen this behavior in other fish where the sub-dominant males takes on the colors of a female so they won't be attacked by the big, dominant male. Does this apply in this case?

You can see elongated ventral fins on both young ones. Photos were taken just 30 minutes ago.

Bottom of the pecking Apisto order. This one had me fooled into thinking it was a female -

I think the fourth young one I had really was a female, but one or more of these guys killed her...

The 2 bottom fish show extended anterior dorsal fin spines. Only male A. trifasciata show these. They are both males.

I have what's supposedly a female coming in the mail and I've set up a 15 gallon tank for her. Would it be okay to put in the big dominant male with her or does he need a harem?
