I have found small ancistrus to be quite excellent algae eaters! That and they are prety shy so they won't pose a big threat to any potential eggs. Good luck!

I have had a few problems with the bristlenoses, when they get a little bigger they are tough enough to ignore the apisto's trying to protect the eggs. perhaps its just mine.
I prefer the otocinclus. They are excelent algae eaters and dont seem to cause any problems in the tanks.
