aggressive solo male sp ortega

There has been threads about solo males aggression. What i can report is the solo male ortega i moved out of the 65 to a 29 is extremely aggressive by itself. In the 29 the previous population was 7 cory eque 6 ember tetra a young krobia i haven't removed yet (though I did try to catch him) and a female nannacara.

The ortegai killed the nannacara (I think); nearly killed one cory and chases them out of his area; goes after the krobia and the tetra. He has claimed nearly 1/3 of the aquarium from top to bottom as his territory (that means if a tetra swims near the top in that area it will be chased).

The three female i moved to a 180 which has my group of b. cupido and m. ergeris and they have been pretty passive.

So what to do with the male ortegai what to do - i could toss him into the 600 with the clown loaches and very large flag chilid (6 nches); find a broom and spank him daily; let him terriorize my cory until he passes next century or hang out to dry in the sun.

There are rogue fish out ther and not just cichlids. I knew someone who had a Silver Tip Tetra (Hasemania nana) that kept other members in a 6'/1.8m long community tank to about a third of the tank. The community included some medium size angelfish.

I had a male WC Agassizii that was extremely aggressive, he didn’t kill anything but would not tolerate any other Apistogrammas or small cichlids in the 120cm long tank, he would seek them out and terrorise them even though the tank had plenty of hiding places, I removed them to another tank but then he would even chase the larger cichlids I had there for a while - Mesonauta and Cichlasoma, although he didn’t bother with tetras.

Yea - i'm not sure what to do with this fellow - he really goes after the blue keri - it worked much better when he was in a breeding tank and didn't harrass any of the dithers. Oh well. 'cept for the eques cory there isn't anything important in that aquarium - it is just short of a scratch aquarium - btw this is one of my blue keri; you can see he is pissed off at being chased:
