Breeding age depends on the species, as well as a number of other factors. Usually females are ready before males. An average would be 5 or 6 months for fem. and 6 or 7 for males. But I have had dinky 3 1/2 month females spawn before.
If you have an apisto around for 2 years, you are doing a pretty good job. They can live a little longer sometimes.
