Hi
I need some advice from the expirienced here.
First, some background:
10G breeding tank.
Two cacatouides that had spawn in the comunity tank 20 days ago and are in the breeding tank for 2 weeks.
Breeding tank with no gravel and no dither fish (yet). Sponge filter and clay pots.
Water condition: PH 7.6, KH-3 Nitrit=0 Temp=26c

The aquarium looks like this:
http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/...1260244086748/200404252348543806/DSC00030.JPG

The female looks like she is ready for spawning (string yellow color and trying to seduce the male). The male plays hard to get... looks little pale and keeps away from the female.

Any suggestions? Anything to change?

Thanks

Zahi

Zahi, please resize your image to no more than 400x400 pixels, or edit your post and remove the image tags () to embed the image as a hyperlink.

As for your breeding situation, it is odd indeed to have a male shy away from a potential mating situation for a prolonged period of time. It may be that he's still getting used to the new tank and things may change in the next few days. The lack of dithers (which you're addressing) may also be contributing. You can also try bumping the temperature up a degree or two and/or adding some peat to the tank.

Thanks for the answer
I took off the pic.
I'll raise the temp, pust some peat and put a dither fish and will see...
If this will not work I'm gonna change the concept and will decorate the tank with gravek and some plants. Maybe this will make them feel at home...
And is this will not work too, I'll go and seach for some "Fishagra" (fish Viagra)...
