Hi Guys,
With this I introduce myself, probaly you´ve seen the viejita 1 (real viejita) collected this year by a couple of colombian fish enthusiast in wich I include myself... Now I want to share this beauty, A. Sp. ¨Mitu¨ from near its type locality. This fish was first found by Werner and collaborators in the 90s. This report also extend their known range in some Km and on a new stream. Right now I´m keeping a small group on a 160L heavily filled with driftwood and leaves, to imitate the pure blackwater streams were I found them. I will try to take better pictures later, but first Im giving them my best for breeding purposes. Enjoy them here!

Glad you collected the viejita for us Daniel and Tom H. Imported them to the UK, not sure if you remember me from the conversation we had on fb or not? Lol and hope we could get A. sp. mitu to the UK sometime soon too. :)

Sure, I remember! I will try to breed them, as they were not common at all, just have a small group. However they are doing great and the females are alreay stablising territories so I hope to have good news soon...

Funnily enough I requested to join that yesterday! Partly because I'm after a female A. nijsseni and partly out of interest anyway!

You can get it easily mate, if you are not looking for a wild fish, I think Nijsseni is one always available on ebay if you are willing to pay the postage fees. Coming from Kesgrave who gets his stock off Czech breeders as far as I know.

Ideally I would have liked a wild fish as the male is wild, but right now I'm not fussed. I have just had an email off somewhere round here that is getting some in next week (I assume they are Czech but don't know!) so hopefully I'll get one then depending on the price. I don't really want to pay more than £10 for one so we shall see. I only paid about £6 for the one I have now (although I bought him as a wild A. panduro) and I picked up a wild A. panduro male for £3 (my best value apisto yet along with a £3 wild A. barlowi).

Well there are not many who import wild Apistos within the UK. Yet you can contact graham Carr as he's one who's getting them regularly. :)

The ones I have were from Rare Aquatics. I may just go with a Czech A. nijsseni. Hopefully the addition of some wild genes will yield some nice offspring if they breed.
