Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and have a couple of questions. Yesterday my one of my female A. Macmasteri layed eggs (her first time, I've had her since she was a small juvie) and I'm not quite sure how to proceed.
Here's some background on the tank - It's a 40g tall w/ 3 Macmasteri (1 male & 2 females) 5 juvie discus, I'm hoping to get a pair and will then move the others,a dozen cardinals, 5 corys, 2 juvie SAE's and a blue phantom pleco. The water spec is - PH 6.2, temp 85, KH 3 and I keep the Nitrates around 10ppm w/ frequent large water changes.
Ok - my questions How long till they hatch? What do I feed them if they do? And would I be better off moving mom & eggs into an empty 10g now to raise them? (I'll need to move them eventually anyway) I'm not really concerned about the other female or the male, they have lots of hiding spots and are used to evading the female that layed the eggs. She's been on a rip for about the last month so everyone in the tank gives her plenty of room. It's a riot watching this little fish bully disus that are more than 10 times her size.
Thanks,
Mike - tx_mike
