What do you guys keep yours at for temp, pH, and GH?
Got what might be a pair, but in the last couple days things haven't been going so well with them. First off I had 2 heaters break. One wouldent heat, the other one pushed the tank to 93-94 degrees F. Then I made a stupid mistake and overdosed with acid buffer today and dropped the pH to 5.0 or below.
Only the (what I think) female was eating yesterday for me, but today they are both hidden behind the filter and showing little to no color. I have the temp now stabilized at 77-78, and pH at 6.3. Should I just wait them out or am I doomed?

I would wait it out. The shock was likely as not caused by elevated CO2 levels created by the acid reacting to alkaline compounds than to the pH drop itself. What was the pH before you adjusted it? Waiting out is about all that you can do at this stage at any rate.

Comming out of the tap at about 7.5-8.5. Then usaly drops in 24 hours. The ph was 6.4 this mornin, soon as I turned the lights on they hid back behind the filter again. Dunno. Just dont know. Will give em some time I guess maybe lay off a water change or 2 this week and see if they do a little better.

now I dont know what is going on, they both came out and ate frozen brine for me this afternoon, but any movement they go right back up behind the filter. they are both still really colored down. Guess I will just have to wait em out and see if they make it or not.

Personally, they seem to be acting normally if your tank has very few hiding places and the surface not covered by plants. Apistos become more outgoing when they know there are many places to hide when frightened.
