i have some pics of my pair of a. cacatuoides, i have seen MANY of these fish on this forum and ALL are more brilliant than mine. i am starting to think they are wild??!! is this the case?, and if so, is their care any different than captive raised? also they are about 1 1/2"-2" long, how old are they? i have them on frozen blood worms now, how much should i feed at one feeding for the pair? how do i get the pics on here???

thanks,

This is difficult to tell. Quite often there are few differences. The only way to be relatively sure is to have verification from those that sold you the fish. And then it is a matter of how reliable they are or whether they even know for sure!

also they are about 1 1/2"-2" long, how old are they?

That is also difficult to tell. It depends on the species, the size of the tank they are growing in, food, temp. etc!!! I would say they are at least 9 months old, but that is a total guess without knowing all of the things I just mentioned.

i have them on frozen blood worms now, how much should i feed at one feeding for the pair?

Feed smaller amounts, more often if possible. The general rule is best- Feed only what your fish will eat in a few minutes time and remove uneaten food. You should also vary the diet a little. Here is an article that might give you some ideas: http://www.apistogramma.com/cms/content/view/34/27/

how do i get the pics on here???

Do you have the ability to put them on the web - personal site, etc?
