A.Cac Triple Red Spawn questions

So my triple reds spawned about a month ago. The biggest fry are about 7/16". When I first noticed them, I ended up taking the male out of the tank, because it seemed like he was picking them off. After that, I consistently was counting about 14 fry. The last couple days, I have only been able to count 6-9 at any time. I noticed last night that mom seems to be harassing the fry, and she is colored up again and I saw her go in her spawning cave again, which I haven't seen her do since the spawning. Is she harassing the fry becasue she wants them to get out of the territory so she can attract a male again? Should I remove her from the tank in order to protect the fry?

Thanks in advance,

David

ps. The only tank I feel ok about putting her in is a 20 long with 3-4 bristle nose ancistrus and a pair of kribs.

I definitately would not house Apistogramma and Kribensis together.

The dramas with having Apistogramma breed in a tank with ancistrus (bristlenose) is that Apistogramma are very protective of their fry and bristlenose ain't a fish they would want to attack as the Apisto 'could' injure itself. I had a female steindachneri sustain injuries resulting from her harrassment of bristlenose. Just the chances you take!

My plan ended up being that the female is in the tank with the ancistrus and kribs. It seemed quicker and more expedient to move the momma for now. Everything I have had spawn in the past has been egg scatterers, although corys are nice and "scatter" their eggs on the aquarium glass where I can retrieve them and hatch them in a more controlled environment. I will set up a grow out tank in the next couple of days and move the fry as I can, then momma can come back to the spawning tank, and then poppa can move back as well for the next round. I moved her last night, and so far she was doing well this morning.
