It really needs some work done in the left side where the wisteria and val group is. I just added the vals so they should be more grown in in a few weeks, I already see some new growth, enjoy!
The current lighting is a 130 watt coralife fixture, which gives me roughly 2.4 wpg, and has a co2 injection from a DIY fixture.
The current fish are: 1 angel (gonna boost it up to a group)
1 blue ram (trying to find a mate)
1 bolivian ram (soon going to get a mate)
pair of blue spot gouramis
pair of nanochromis transvestitus
about 16 panda corydoras
2 whiptail cats
7 ottos
3 guppies (going to boost the group)
4 ember tetras (they were from an old shoal, sound mean but I am basically waiting for them to die!)
good game this, spot the fish in the tank. Have now also found the bolivian in the middle of the tank.
Anyway any Apistos that you will add to this nice set-up or wil you leave as is ?
Ryan,
Watch for distress among the Corydoras panda. They usually don't last long in very warm water 80* to 86*F. Couple that with CO2 and they may disappear fast. They spawn well around 75*F. Several of your fish like Blue Rams need that warm water.
I love my Cichlids and raise wild and red turquoise Discus and some SA Dwarfs but basically I seem to be running a catfish farm. My place gets very warm when its 115*F outside so I have to raise warmth loving fish. I work with Hypancistrus zebra, L66, Peckoltia sp L134, Hypancistrus L260, Hypancistrus L333, Panaque sp L204 and Sturisoma aureum.
I was raising many species of Corys but the majority did not do well in the summer but I able to maintain colonies of breeding C. habrosus, C. hastatus and C. sterbai.
I raised a lot of C. panda but once Summer hits it's all I can do to just keep them alive.
Peckoltia L134 youngsters.
I have been told of this before. So far at a temp of 78 and not the right amount of co2 for my tanks size they have been fine. I started out with 5 originally, and now have 16, they breed like heck. I found eggs today as a matter of fact. So far I havent seen any signs of distress or discomfort, if I ever do though I will setup a tank for them with cooler water. Thank you so much for the reply.
