I know this forum is more for dwarf cichlids than communities, but since the focus is around dwarfs, I thought it might be acceptable. I'm planning a 38G tank for my dorm room instead of the 55G I had originally considered awhile ago due to transportation contraints.
I already have two P. sacrimontis for the tank, which I currently believe are females. They currently reside in a 15G tank, and I'd like to move them to the larger 38G as I realize they grow larger than the P. pulcher I thought I'd purchased. They have recently become close, and follow each other around.
I will probably be using 7-8 Hemigrammopetersius caudalis (Yellowtail Congo tetra) as dithers, along with 4 Synodontis nigriventris (upside down catfish).
The question is can I add another dwarf west african? I currently have available Hemichromis bimaculatus (jewel cichlid), Hemichromis lifalili (wild), "neon jewels" (I assume are just prettier Hemichromis bimaculatus), Anomalochromis thomasi (Thomas' dwarf), Steatocranus casuarius (Buffalohead or Blockhead cichlid) and Pelvicachromis pulcher (Id rather not keep two of the same genus). I was thinking of adding a single individual of one of the above species. Which would be the best choice (if any work at all)?
Thanks for the help.
Mike
