29 gal stocking

Would it be possible to keep a pair of apisto and a pair of rams in a 29 gal tank? If so - are there any species of apisto that would be more likely to peacefully cohabitate with the rams?

hello Ben , yes it is possible to house a pair of apisto with a pair of rams. I haved housed 1 pair of Apisto. bitaeniata, 1 pair of broadband and a pair of rams in a 29 gal and they were pretty good with each other. The rams usually don't bother the other fish, the bitaeniata was the more aggressive of the 2 pairs. They will occassionally flare up with each other but nothing really bad. Just watch out when the fish start to spawn they will usually be more aggressive so just try to put some hiding places for the fish like coconut caves and some java moss.

If you want to breed them, you can also buy a tank divider to avoid any aggression. This way you can breed two different pairs of fish and you only have to use one air pump, filter, etc.

When I breed my Borelli will I have to move rams? I dont want to buy a divider, I want a natural setting. My tank is extremely well planted with lots of driftwood and 2 coconut caves
